|Day and time:||Every Thursday morning, 10.30 to 12.30|
The ukulele group has just celebrated its third birthday. We meet every Thursday to play, improve our technique, learn new songs and most of all have fun doing it. For the last 18 months we also visit groups and lead sing-a-long sessions which both we and our audiences enjoy. In May we are visiting the WI group in Rainhill. At the AGM on the 14th June and we will be playing 6 popular songs everyone will know and be able to sing a long to. The words will be on the screen. Come to enjoy and join in.
Not only is it good for your fingers but playing the Ukelele is great fun. Our Thursday morning session is most enjoyable and we always leave with a sense of having made progress as we have ususally played something new or played old favourites much better!
Although we are not a singing group, singing along is part of the fun and enjoyment and we now visit outside groups and perform sing-a-long sessions which have proved to be most successful. In true U3A style we are a group sharing what we know and encouraging each other to play and improve our skills. Our group has grown and we now have over 40 members.
Whilst new members are welcome we now have a waiting list until further notice. You don't have to be able to read music or have played a musical instrument before. All you need is a ukulele and be willing to put in some practice as we guide you through the basics.
