In the light of current government advice, re: Covid 19 and the profile of our organisation, the committee have decided to cancel the April Monthly Meeting and postpone the AGM.
I will keep you informed about forthcoming monthly meetings and the re-scheduling of the AGM.
Currently the coffee morning at the end of March will go ahead as planned.
Please can we ask that anyone with coughs, colds or a high temperature stays away from ALL communal events and group meetings. It is at the discretion of the group leader whether their group runs or not.
This may be an opportunity to look at different ways of communicating within a group, WhatsApp, Skype etc – just to stay in contact, if you can’t meet up.
With best wishes,
Please view the link on this page to read the latest Coronavirus Advice from the Third Age Trust CEO, Sam Mauger.
It was lovely to see so many of you at last week's coffee morning, both existing and new members. Thank you for joining in.
Our speaker this Thursday, March 5th, is Ray Hingston talking about “The Deer Parks of John Lord Roberts” and I hope to see you there.
AGM and Committee Posts
The annual general meeting will take place before the monthly meeting on April 2nd. There will be an opportunity to nominate, propose and second members this Thursday via the Secretarys Notice Board.
We have agreed to have two events at the Eden Project. On June 6th we will be holding a U3A Open Day and Big Lunch Event. There will be an opportunity to bring new members with free entry to Eden along with stalls and picnic events.
The second event will be our Christmas meeting and lunch all together on December 3rd. Details of both will follow soon.
In conjunction with Eden and the National Wildflower Centre, we are looking for volunteers for seed gathering and dispersal in June/July. The aim is to create a colourful and welcoming entrance on the A30 link road into St Austell. Can anyone interested email me or sign up at the monthly meeting please? Dates and locations will be announced nearer the time. We are trying to get an indication of numbers interested for planning purposes.

There are a few spaces available at Edies Restaurant to join the wine group on May 6th at 12.30. A 3 course lunch with wine and a fine wine consultant on hand all for £42.00. Contact email@example.com

The van will be attending all our coffee mornings until the end of November.
Please contact the membership secretary if you’ve forgotten to renew your membership. Lapsed members will very shortly be unable to attend groups.
Best wishes to you all
There’s a coffee morning on the last Friday of every month, currently held in the Assembly rooms at the Arts Theatre at 10.30 until 12am.
It’s a chance to meet new and existing members, buy tickets for the social events and call in at the Refill Van in the car park, or just to have a coffee and catch up with what’s going on.
