It can’t rain forever but it’s beginning to feel like it. To brighten things up I’ve got lots of news to share.
The Christmas Lunch is on Thursday 12th December. Tickets are on sale at this monthly meeting and are selling fast. Attached is the menu if you would like to make your choice before coming to the meeting.
The Spanish Tapas evening on Saturday November 23rd has not fully sold out as yet. There are tickets available, £10 a head, including food and a Spanish guitar recital. Bring your own wine.
The above events are only open to St Austell U3A Members.
Our 20th Anniversary party was a happy event and there are photos and a DVD available to purchase if anyone would like to. Please see Eleanor Westlake.
Sue Brown is taking on the role of Group Co-ordinator. There are several new groups starting, (German, Motor Homes, Quizzes and possibly Table Tennis). The Indian Head Massage has had to be deferred as the leader is out of action for a while.
I’m grateful to Michael Grindley for his support as Group Co-ordinator to date.
Norma would like to thank everyone who has contributed shoeboxes and toiletries for the refuge. Over 60 have been made this year alone. To finish the year, Norma has 9 boxes still to fill and needs FULL SIZE shower gel, shampoo and conditioner to complete them. Any unwanted toiletry gifts at Christmas would be welcome for next year as this is an on-going project.
A change this year. The dates for renewing membership will be Thursday 9th and Friday 31st January. More of this in the next newsletter.
Apologies to those of you who are receiving the magazine when you have asked to be taken off the list. It’s been a problem at the data processors, which is hopefully now resolved. Opt in or out will be updated with your memberships next year.
The Incredible Bulk
The mobile van will be with us again on Friday 29th November at the coffee morning and then returns at the end of January for savings on packaging and buying exactly the amount that you want.
Speaker News and Baker Tom this Thursday 7th November
Bridget Sampson from St Austell Healthcare is speaking this week. Prior to her talk we have “Baker Tom” telling us about their healthy bread options at their new shop in town, plus samples and a special offer for U3A members.
Best wishes to you all,
