WHEN During the Autumn and Winter months we meet on the first Thursday of each month wherever possible, i.e. October and November, January, February and March. We do not have meetings in December and August.
WHERE Laleham Village Hall. The meeting commences at 2.00 p.m. and finishes at approximately 3.45 p.m. Tea and Biscuits are served at the end of the lecture around 3 p.m. We now have to pay reasonable charges for car parking located next to the Village Hall. There is limited free street parking nearby
AIMS To further our knowledge across the range of both Antique and Collectable items. We exchange views of what’s best to look for, where to source; see items of interest and listen to experts in their own specialised field. To make us aware of our past and traditions of our forefathers.
ACTIVITIES Whilst in the Village Hall we sometimes hold special members afternoons. Members are invited to bring along and talk about any items they have recently purchased or inherited and explain their importance and value. We have been fortunate in having various guest speakers talking about their world of antiques and collectables, giving descriptions and valuations free of charge for members personal items. At our March AGM we elect our Officers and Committee members and finish off the afternoon with a lively quiz.
EVENTS During the Summer, May, June, July, and September we arrange to visit places of interest, usually by coach, such as Antiques Fairs and towns/villages with a selection of antiques shops. We have also attended live auctions. These tours are detailed individually and priced by members of the Committee.
