The activities of the group, which shut down in 2009 but reformed in June 2014, follows in the footsteps of the three original Music Appreciation groups differing only in one aspect, which is that we are now a small house group of 8. We meet in Ashford once a month united by our common interest in pieces of music from the Great Classical Composers.
The programme for each meeting is in two halves. In the first half we make use of the set programmes compiled between 2003-07 on to CDs by the Leaders of the original groups. In the second half each member takes it in turn to select & introduce a longer single piece.
We generally have a short information session before each piece but nothing too complex as our primary focus is to listen & enjoy.
