Out and About
February 2019 Out and about was at Scalextric racing. We spent a very competitive afternoon on the 8 racetracks.
Old relics looking for old relics!
November - Peterborough cathedral
January - Talk about Holbeach cemetery
February - Scalextric
March - Behind the scenes at Tolethorpe.
April - Bubble car museum
With ever increasing numbers in membership and hence a broadening of interests, the ‘Out and About’ group was born.
An outing of some description is arranged on the fourth Thursday of each month, lasting an hour or so, a whole afternoon or very occasionally a whole day. We aim to start an afternoon session at 2 pm but this could vary according to the venue and activity.
The programme contains interesting places historically, architecturally, geographically, scientifically etc and can include buildings, historical sites, churches, villages, towns, walks and interesting events.
Whilst we have a list of possible visits, it is hoped that members will suggest ideas of their own and, on a rota basis, arrange an outing.
The title suggests that almost anything, allowing for dates and times, is possible for a visit.
Please contact Gill Allen, via Margaret Crossgrill on the Contact Page, if you are interested in joining so that you can be added to our monthly circular.
