There are five wine appreciation groups which are devoted not only to enjoying wine but to learning more about wine in general. This includes regional production, what goes to make a great wine, how food and wine can complement each other, and most of all, taste.
Each group has its own characteristics, from running large group events at various locations throughout or beyond the Southport area to small food and wine soirees. You will find the groups meet on different days of the week to give everyone a chance of joining one or other of them.

|Day of meeting||Monthly, 3rd Wednesday|
The meetings take place in members' homes. The host chooses the theme for the evening, ie. country, region etc. The intention is to have 6 wines for tasting per evening. Additionally each couple (or single member) will bring a plate of food from the themed country or region to compliment the wine brought.
|Day of meeting||Monthly, 2nd Thursday|
Whilst wine is important to group members the food we prepare to accompany the wines is also something we enjoy researching. After each event the group leader prepares a brief newsletter with details of the wines including price and availability.
|Day of meeting||Monthly, 4th Monday|
This group is looking to having events in local hostelries etc.
|Day of meeting||Friday|
This group intends to take all the good ideas from the other four Wine Groups and try some new ideas and ventures too. Along with members hosting we will include wine events at local venues.
