Wine Appreciation 3
|Day of meeting||Monthly, 2nd Thursday|

Each meeting has a theme suggested by the member hosting, such as Wines from South Africa, and members attending the event must bring an appropriate wine and some food to go with it. Food should either complement the wine chosen or follow the same theme as the wine.
Members attending are divided into 6 roughly equal groups so that 3 groups will choose a red wine and the other 3 a white. We aim to restrict attendance sizes to 12-14 at each meeting (occasionally 16 according to the hosting capacity) and the wine pricing should ideally be in the range £10 to £12 a bottle.
Members are expected to do a little research so they can introduce the wine they are bringing, giving a brief background of its origins and anticipated flavour. After all, the point of the exercise is to broaden our knowledge of the many different wines available and maybe learn something of the various wine regions throughout the world.
Following on from each meeting the leader prepares a short Newsletter with brief details of the wines sampled together with the price and source. This facilitates members purchasing more of any particular wines they enjoyed should they wish to do so.
