South Tyneside

Welcome

FUN, FRIENDSHIP, and LEARNING. Three little words that sum up what our u3a is about don't imagine that U3A means studying in a classroom........

South Tyneside u3a offers many opportunities to explore new interests, expand old ones, and learn something different. Learning for fun, not qualifications or exam results.

It is never too late to learn, and research has shown that remaining active, mentally and physically, is hugely beneficial to our health and happiness in later years.

Members share their skills and life experiences, with a wide range of activity groups all organised by members themselves. Learners teach and teachers learn.......

There are many opportunities to socialise, make new friends and take part in a wide variety of educational, creative and leisure activities of your own choice. But also to share your own views, skills, knowledge or talents with others. Don't be shy; all you need is the impetus to go out and meet new people, make new friends and enjoy NEW experiences.

South Tyneside U3A was founded in 2001 and has grown rapidly into one of the largest and most successful in the region. With 270 members, our range of 17 classes includes Dancing for Fun (no experience necessary), Reading Groups, Art classes, Drama, Music Appreciation, Video group, Walking groups, Gardening, Bowls, Ten pin bowling, Happy Crafters, a Sunday lunch club and a Quiz night. And of course if you don't see anything you fancy, how about setting up a new group. You would get all the necessary guidance and backing - and a lot of satisfaction. We are a self-help group, with charitable status. With the mantra It is never too late to learn, u3a membership can be both life enhancing and life changing.

Annual Membership Fee is £20
