Dining in

{Timings vary, please contact group leader Sandra Bowles 01494 439125
or by email agdining@sbu3a.org.uk for more information}

The Dining-in group meets six times a year, in sets of three couples, to enjoy a meal together. A ‘couple’ means any two people who want to come along together. They need not live together or indeed do anything other than come to dine.

Each couple provides one course of the meal with the host couple providing the main course. The date and time of each meal is decided by the six people in each set and is co-ordinated by the host couple.

The meal can be breakfast, brunch, lunch, high tea, afternoon tea or dinner. The meal is not a cookery competition. If someone lacks confidence in cooking, there is no reason why a bought ready-made starter, main meal or dessert cannot be used. The AIM of the ‘get togethers’ is to be social and allow people to meet others and have an enjoyable time.

Once a year there is a social event, either a joint meal in a restaurant or a communal meal at someone’s house.

If you are interested in joining this friendly Dining-in group we would love to hear from you. You are welcome to come along as a guest to a meal or we can incorporate you into the rota.
