Mah Jong 2
This group was set up because we wanted to play Mah Jong more than twice a month.
We have nine members and seven also belong to Mah Jong (1).
In the Summer I decided we needed to be a bit competitive so a ladder has been started whereby the highest score will be rewarded with "something I know not what". In order to participate each player has to attend at least 10 sessions.
Unfortunately for us all Helga, who spent one morning complaining she had awful tiles in her hand managed to play a particular high scoring game and ended up with a score of 7990 - a difficult score for any of us to overtake.
Still maybe Helga will go on holiday several times between now and the end of March so will not qualify!!!!!!!!!!! Aren't we friendly.
Mah Jong in Paignton
Six playing members of the Group and 1 non-combatant enjoyed a 4 day break at the Hotel Bonair on the Paignton sea front.
Three days of Mah Jong took place with about 60 players from a wide area including some from Andover and Wellington U3A's. The days were interspersed with walks to Torquay, drinking wine, bus journeys to Brixham, drinking wine, shopping and drinking wine.
So what are 'Windy chows'? Have you been up ladders chasing 'butterflies'? What exactly is a 'Ghoulash with Honours'? You may learn more in the June Magazine!
