Social Bridge
It is not my intention to form a Bridge Club. All those who have joined so far have expressed an interest in social Bridge, which is to say that we want to play Bridge in each other's homes and that social interaction will be as much part of our group as the playing of Bridge. (Hence the teapot on our table on Enrolment Day!)
Since none of us (with one exception) is able to host more than one table at any one time, we will form as many tables as we have interested members (divided by four, of course!). Each individual table will be affiliated to the group, but its four members will be able to determine how often they wish to play and where.
Whenever one member of a particular table is unable to play on an agreed date, it is envisaged that she or he will get in touch with a member of another table to see if that person would be able to play in her or his stead. (We all have a list of all the members of the group, including postal and e-mail addresses - where available - and telephone numbers.)
