Theatre Group
WOW!!!
20th July, 20 MEMBERS OF THE THEATRE GROUP Have just been to see the sell-out production of Mattheww Bourne's Red Shoes Ballet. It was fantastic! We all had wonderful time.
On 24th May we went to see a special screening for us, of 'Some like it hot' starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemon and Tony Curtis, at the Electric Cinema in Birmingham. We arranged the trip together with 'Taking mystery out of history' group. The 'Electric', is the oldest working cinema in the country.
9th March 2017.
Some of our members attended, and some performed in, the Knowle Musical Society production of CHESS the Musical at the Solihull Core. It was superb! I have seen three professional productions of CHESS before and this was as good, if not better! We must support our local theatre more!
On 19th December we went to the Crescent Theatre for their Christmas Wassail. It was a festive feast of music, comedy and the spoken word - all brought together to warm our spirits with the magic of Christmas. There was a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie on arrival. Then the show which was super! A great evening.
The visit to the Electric Cinema in Birmingham for a tour and film showing, will be in the New Year.
In conjunction with the book group, we have been to RSC Stratford to see "Wolfe Hall".
We also visited the Birmingham Rep. to see "The Rotters Club".
