The History Group meet on the first Tuesday of the month.

Members have opportunities to research and present a broad range of topics, lighthearted to serious.

4th October was on the history of pharmacy, followed by the Tolpuddle Martyrs.
1st November was on Land Rover, smallpox, Dr Orton and James Gillingham Limb Maker
6th December we had talks firstly on Thomas Hardy and then on the theme of famous spouses. Philip May, the PM's husband. Jessie Bradman, wife of Don Bradman. Josephine, wife of Napoleon. Denis Thatcher, husband of the Iron Lady. Richard Pankhurst, husband of Emaline.

10th January Firstly, Pirates, then Edward Elgar and King Hubba
7th February Harold McMillan
7th March, A talk about St.Kilda and Queen Victoria's children
