How to put a link to this website onto your Android phone
I can tell you what I do for Google Chrome running on my Nexus 4 with an Android operating system and feel that Android running on other phones will probably be not too different.
It is a little involved on Android phones as you have to put the wanted web address into the list of Bookmarks in Google Chrome before you can get an icon on the Home screen. This is how you can do it...
- Get our U3A Home page onto your display the hard way. (Put u3asites.org.uk/solent into your browser.)
- Near the top right-hand corner there are 3 grey dots. Touch these.
- On the pop-up screen which will appear, touch the star at the top.
- Then touch Save at bottom right.
- On the webpage screen which will re-appear, touch the three dots again, but this time touch Bookmarks on the pop-up screen.
- Press on your new bookmark, then on Add to home screen
and you're there (at last!).
