Sending emails to a group

(thanks to our member, Peter Robinson, for the original)

Every time you send or forward an email with multiple addresses, scammers search and can find all those addresses and sell them or send you junk mail in the hopes that you will open one, if not all, of the junk mail he has sent you. If you do he will earn five cents for every one you open. How do you stop it? It's really quite simple.

Do NOT use the To or the Cc (Carbon copy) field when selecting the addressees but use the Bcc (Blind carbon copy) field instead. By using Bcc the people you send to will not be able to see any details of the other recipients (and, importantly, neither will the scammers). They will only see Undisclosed Recipients in the To: field.

This way of sending e-mails to a group of people also provides privacy for anyone who prefers not to have their email address shown to all the others in the group.

If you can't see your Bcc option, click on To and this option should then appear.
