Litter Free Lakes
Convenor - Sue Ashley
Anyone who walks around the Lake District knows that it is a beautiful area and that is why it is now a World Heritage site - but litter can be an eyesore. The aim of this group is to keep our area looking beautiful by ensuring that litter is not allowed to build up. The plan is to meet every 2 - 4 weeks, on variable days, to do a short period (1 to 2 hours) of litter clearance in a variety of sites - round the lake shores, along river banks, on the fells, in parks and gardens. Bags, gloves and litter picks will be provided and when we finish, we can adjourn for a cup of coffee. Anyone is welcome to come along either on a regular or an occasional basis.
