Saturday July 2020 High Seat
A group of six met at St John’s Church, walked up through Spring Wood, bi-passed Walla Crag to reach the stone steps to Bleaberrry Fell and diverted south along the sheep trod to High Seat. The heavy rain in the previous night made for a boggy walk. From High Seat the group followed a faint path to the Litt Memorial. From there a sheep trod was taken along the top of Iron Crag and then descended under Goat Crag to Shoulthwaite Farm. The path was taken to Shaw Bank and through the fields to Dale Bottom. After crossing the A591 the group walked through the fields past Castlerigg Farm and down through Spring Wood back to Keswick – 17.4km, 5.43hours, 673m ascent.
