| Wed May 15th | Our speaker will be Martin Rowley with a presentation entitled 'Does the Criminal Justice System Work? -The inside story'. The presentation will include why people offend, the agencies which bring about a criminal prosecution, how the Courts deal with offenders, what happens in our prison system, how offenders are rehabilitated by the Probation Service and compares the UK with other countries and shines a light on the true state of the UK system. Martin is now retired but, in his career , has been involved in the court and criminal justice system and currently works with charities who assist ex-offenders and also with the Probation Service and their new programmes to assist rehabilitation. Our meeting will be at the usual time of 10.00am for refreshments and 10.30am for the start of the meeting and will be held in Skelmanthorpe Methodist Church, Pilling |
| Wed Jun 12th | Joanne Watson Community Defibrillation Coordinator from the Yorkshire Ambulance Services will deliver a presentation and demonstration explaining what happens when they receive a 999 call and how a defibrillator is accessed if required and how to do CPR. | Thu Apr 25th | Many footpaths are in very poor condition but hopefully we will be able to complete a 3 mile ramble between Grange Moor and Emley Grange. There are some relatively easy stiles and a couple of steep but short inclines. Lunch will be taken at The Seed Room in Middlestown Nursery. |
