Poetry Appreciation

Poetry Appreciation:

A couple of poetic extracts:

From Wanderlust by R W D Fuller

Stay me not, ah, stay me not
For the salt wind's calling me,
And the Wanderlust is blazing strong -
I must say goodbye to thee.
For the sands are shining cool and white
And the ship stands out to sea!

From The Garden by Andrew Marvell - describing a floral clock in summer.

How well the skilful gardener drew
Of flowers and herbs this dial new;
Where from above, the milder sun
Does through a fragrant zodiac run,
And, as it works, the industrious bee
Computes its time as well as we!
How could such sweet and wholesome hours
Be reckoned but with herbs and flowers.

Meetings have been usually held in Blossomfield Road on the third Thursday of the month at 1000. In September, this will be reviewed and further information put on this site.
