Monthly 1st Monday 10.00am
Philosophy is about exploring the way in which society is organised. We ask 'Why' things are organised the way they are and whether we obtain the best results, both for us as individuals and as a group. This leads into far-reaching debate which is both challenging and enjoyable.
The Group has a maximum of nine members. None of us started as experts. We share the leadership of the Group and, while we rarely come to conclusions, we invariably leave the Group better informed and challenged to think about things in a different way.
Subjects are extremely varied and range from studies of the Greek and later philosophers, political philosophy, and practical current issues, morality and ideologies relevant to our everyday lives.
Most of all we enjoy the discussion and each other's company, not to mention the half-time cuppa and biscuits.
