Garden Appreciation Southwick
This group was previously known as 'Gardens Southwick'
A mixture of garden visits and indoor activities.
We mainly visit gardens listed in the National Garden Society Yellow Book during the summer months, and have indoor activities in Southwick Methodist Church Hall during the winter. These indoor meetings are shared with the 'Garden Appreciation Shoreham' Group. We are not a practical gardening group.

Further Information:
- Group members will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before each visit.
- Garden Owners usually need to know at least 8 days before the visit how many people to expect in order to arrange catering. It is, therefore, vital that members let the Coordinator know at least 8 days before the visit whether or not they are coming. If they then find that they cannot come, they should please let her know, as the garden owner may expect us to pay for their place.
- Whatever the weather we are still expected to go on the visit - with wellies and umbrellas if necessary! Members should always check their email just before they leave home in case the owners cancel at the last minute for any reason.
- Members should please report to the Coordinator when they arrive and give them the exact entrance money in a sealed envelope with their name on it. No loose change as it has to be counted and passed over to the garden owner.
- Group members should wear sensible shoes and take a stick if helpful. Many gardens have steps and slopes.
Due to cost of petrol, environmental issues and sometimes limited parking, members are encouraged to car share. Car sharing members please offer the driver a contribution towards the petrol and any parking fees - the amount to be agreed between them. Please note that car sharing journeys to/from a u3a event is not covered by the u3a public liability insurance.
