Pop up - Fun with percussion
Following the enthusiastic feedback from our from successive Fun with Percussion sessions, further sessions are taking place every few months. They are advertised on this page as and when arranged.
Next session will be in spring 2019
The sessions are home-based, participatory and intended to give us a chance to use a variety of percussion instruments (including body percussion!) to remind ourselves what it’s like to make sounds just for fun - but we won't be exhausting ourselves in the effort.
Let’s shake, rattle and drum!
Not musical? Don’t worry, you’ll probably be in good company – and the point of the session is enjoyment. Plus, we have various short video clips to give us ideas for percussion activities to do together – and to help bring some shape to the session!
The coordinator has a number of percussion instruments and we borrow some locally from another organisation, but if participants have any that we could borrow (particularly small drums) they are welcome to bring them along.
Please note there are some steps up to the coordinator's home.
The photo was taken at the end of our first percussion session when we played along to a highly rhythmic tune called Kokoleoko which comes from Ghana
If you're interested in fun with percussion contact the organiser using the bluebird email contact box on this page.
Please also email if you have a percussion instrument you no longer use that you want to pass on to a new home - we can probably make use of them - if not we would pass on to a local charity.
