Walking 1 - Tuesday Meanderers
Please note that for organisational issues to do with individual walks you need to talk to the walk leader for each specific walk on the phone number given in the walk details below
Walks vary between 1½ - 2½ miles. All U3A Members walk at their own risk.
On Tuesday 23rd April we will be visiting Tottington Woods in Smalldole. This is a wonderful walk to see the bluebells, let's hope the weather is good. The leader will be myself, as usual we will be meeting at 10.15 for 10.30am start in the car park at the Fox in Smalldole. The paths are very good but there are slopes and a few steps so please wear suitable walking shoes. This is only a short walk but hopefully will be very enjoyable.
Please ring me on the morning of the walk between 8.30 and 9.00am on 01903 765642 to advise if you are coming and/or to check if the walk is not cancelled due to the weather. If anyone requires a lift please ring me 3-4 days before the walk and I will try to put you in touch with someone who lives near you.
For drivers, the mileage from Shoreham to Smalldole is approx 6½ miles each way, equating to £3.90, a voluntary contribution is requested to be shared between driver and passengers.
PLEASE NOTE: everyone walks at their own risk and U3A cannot accept any responsibility for walkers personal safety although coordinators do try to advise on any known dangers e.g. stiles, rough ground, beware the bull, etc! Please ensure you always have your mobile phone with you and turned on in case of emergency and that you have my mobile number 07904 976446 stored so that you can get in touch with me if needed.

Each walk will be approx. 1.5-2.5 miles in length on level ground with no stiles or obstacles.
Please wear suitable clothing, walking shoes/boots, bring walking sticks if required, and bring any medications and fresh water.
This group relies on its participants leading walks, you will notice that we need more leaders from the details I recently sent, so if you can lead a walk please let me know and if you have a favourite walk which is not on the list I am happy to talk this over. Give me a ring on the above number or talk to me during the walk.
