Garden Appreciation Shoreham
This group was previously known as 'Gardens Shoreham'
A mixture of garden visits and indoor activities.
We mainly visit gardens listed in the National Garden Society Yellow Book during the summer months, and have indoor activities in Southwick Methodist Church Hall during the winter. These indoor meetings are shared with the Southwick Garden Group. We are not a practical gardening group.

Group members will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before each visit.
Garden Owners need to know 7 days before the visit how many people to expect to arrange catering. It is, therefore, vital that group members let the Coordinator know at least 8 days before the visit whether or not they intend coming.
If a group member then finds they can’t come, they should please let the Coordinator know, as the garden owner may expect us to pay for people who don’t turn up.
Whatever the weather we are still expected to go on the visit - with wellies and umbrellas if necessary. Members are asked to always check their email just before they leave home in case the owners cancel at the last minute for any reason.
Group members should please report to the coordinator when they arrive and give her the entrance money in a sealed envelope with their name on it. No loose change please we have to count it and pass it over to the garden owner.
Group members are advised to wear sensible shoes and take a stick if helpful. Many gardens have steps and slopes.
Due to cost of petrol, environmental issues and sometimes limited parking, members are encouraged to car share. Car sharing members please offer the driver a contribution towards the petrol and any parking fees - the amount to be agreed between them. Please note that car sharing journeys to/from a u3a event is not covered by the u3a public liability insurance.
