This group explores art and artists in various times and countries.
We meet in Room 2 of the Shoreham Centre at 10 am every other Thursday. The meetings dates for Art Appreciation alternate with History and Mah Jong groups.
We have studied the art of other cultures and countries, such as China, Mexico and Persia. We have had many other themes – Spanish, German and Flanders art, sculpture, and also Scottish and Irish art in recent years.
We usually divide our year into 3 terms.
Members make suggestions of topics and we are greatly supported by the national U3A Resource Centre, providing DVDs. We also use books from the library, and equipment bought by our own U3A, enabling us to show illustrations from books and cards.
We sometimes visit local and not so local exhibitions, and exchange news and views of these.
