Art
Beginners are very welcome, and all levels are catered for.
If you have never painted before, or you’re a bit unsure how to progress, you know help is at hand if you need it.
At the present moment there is an average attendance of about twenty. There is no pressure or preset format as group members generally like to do 'their own thing', although specific tasks or exercises can be individually set if required.
We are a very sociable group and like to break half way through the session for tea / coffee and a chat, though again it’s not compulsory. As the meetings are in a hired venue we each contribute £2 per person, per session.
Several of the more experienced members of the group are available for water colour or acrylic techniques assistance. Advice is also available for artistic technical drawing or for working with different mediums. In keeping with U3A policies this isn’t a class but a co-operative group of people helping each other. There are no tutors as such, no exercises, assignments or exams.
It’s always strange walking into an unknown group of people but if you’ve had the thought that you might like to paint, come along and see what we do. You are welcome to just watch and chat to us on your first visit if you find it more comfortable to do that. If you don’t try you’ll never know. If you do know what you want to do just bring along your paints, pencils, paper, whatever you use and enjoy the company. You won’t be disappointed.
