Due to the lock down our group have been choosing topics to paint each month. Here are a few that we've chosen.
Prior to Armistice day we painted poppies.
We had a go at self-portraiture not an easy subject! However a good exercise in drawing/painting to really look and draw what you see rather than what you think is there.
We then choose to paint either cutlery or kitchen utensils then painting it again in an abstract style which proved very interesting.
Currently we are looking at art deco posters and either copying or designing our own. Then to do it again in an abstract manner.
Each month at 10 am on the fourth Friday of the month we have a Zoom session after sharing our completed projects on line. We then decide our next project.
We have a group of varied abilities and we all help each other.
If anyone has considered Drawing and Painting we would be more than happy to help them start and have a go! Children can draw and paint freely so there is no reason why retirees can’t have a go! No one is going to judge you.
When restrictions are lifted we will resume our meetings held in the Scout hut hall on the second and fourth Friday of the month from 10 am until 12.30. We pay sufficient to cover the cost of the hire of the hall and refreshments which is around £5.
