Singing for Life
When: 1st Wednesday of each month at 11.00 am
Where: the Tin Tabernacle, Hythe
Regular songsters will know that we meet at 11am on the first Wednesday of each month in the URC East Street, Hythe.
We learn how to use correct diaphragmatic breathing and warm up our singing voices to operate like well-oiled machinery – well, we try! By singing rounds we learn how to harmonise and to listen to our voices. Our extensive repertoire includes spirituals and folk songs, pop songs and show music, and we are delighted to be accompanied by Paul Edwards at the keyboard. Basic music-reading is included, so we are learning all the time, but mainly we enjoy ourselves, have a laugh and feel uplifted at the end of every session. New members can join at any time as the programme is constantly changing – we have just acquired some new books of Fifties music, so we may even be Rockin’ Around the Clock before long! Our informal performances at the Christmas Lunch and the AGM have always been well-received, so why not give us a try? Apply through the usual channels – you will be made to feel very welcome!
