Welcome to Shenfield U3A
Shenfield U3A was formed in 2001 and we have some 40 interest groups. Go to the Groups Page for details. We have an enthusiastic and friendly membership of over 300 and we support the formation of new groups.
Our activities include a monthly meeting with a speaker, theatre trips, coach outings, London and Country Walks and social events. Details of some of these activities are on the Events page.
The interest groups provide educational, creative and leisure activities at minimal cost, making use of the expertise of members. No qualifications are required or awarded.
Membership is open to those no longer in full-time employment. There is an annual subscription. It entitles members to take part in activity groups, to attend the monthly meetings, and to receive the monthly Newsletter, as well as the U3A News from the Third Age Trust. No qualifications are required. Some activities, such as social events and outings incur additional costs. For more details click the Membership button on the Contact Page and fill in the details.
Annual Subscription Our current membership year runs from February to January next year and the subscription is £15, reducing to £8 from August to January. Membership of some groups may incur expenses such as books, materials, travel costs for outings and hire of venue.
Newsletter is produced each month. It is available at the monthly meetings and is e-mailed to members having an e-mail address. It can also be obtained from the libraries in Shenfield, Brentwood and Ingatestone.
