Seaton

Striders Walking Group

Group Leader, Tim Hopson 07591 848105
We meet once a month on the 3rd Tuesday for a morning walk usually of 6+ miles to enjoy the outdoors, the beautiful country and coast of our region, and to get some exercise.

The group is for the more active walker who enjoys a moderately challenging walk and can cope with some hills and stiles if encountered.

Members share the responsibility of planning and leading our walks and the pace and length varies dependent upon the leader for that month. Most start within 15-20 miles of Seaton, but we may travel further on occasion, especially in the summer.

We try and car share to the start of the walk if we can and those who wish to do so meet at the Methodist Church car park in Seaton usually at 9am. Walks usually last for 2.5-3 hours, including a short break and we normally aim to finish the walk so members can be back in Seaton by 1pm if they need to because of afternoon commitments. If the finish is going to be later this will be flagged up in advance. Information about each walk is sent out the week before and will include an indication of the length and type of terrain to be encountered.

New members are welcome so please contact the group leader or an existing member if you would like to give us a try.
