Welcome to the on-line home of Seaford U3A.
The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a nationwide movement which is composed of people devoted to learning. It is a self-help organisation with members who participate in both the teaching and the learning processes sharing their knowledge, skills and experiences.
The only qualification that our members need is enthusiasm! Seaford U3A is a small friendly group established in 1989 which now has approximately 450 members.
We offer a wide variety of courses and home study groups as well as a social programme which includes monthly coffee mornings, general meetings with speakers who are experts in their fields, an annual walk, quizzes, a popular book sale and a programme of trips and visits. Your committee works hard to put together an exciting and stimulating programme -- watch this space!
We are affiliated to the Third Age Trust and through them our members have access to events in London and and to summer schools and seminars at a number of universities. The Third Age Trust also has links with the Open University.
We send a monthly bulletin to our members, by email to those who use computers and in printed form to the others. Information about our programme and activities is also published in Seaford Scene and local newspapers.
The annual subscription for Seaford U3A is £10 per year. In addition there is a small charge for each course a member wishes to attend as well as nominal charges for some of our social activities.
If you wish to join, please contact the Membership Secretary.
