TO START FILLING YOUR DIARIES FOR THE YEAR AHEAD
Each spring we begin to compile a new programme of groups and activities to run from September into the following year.
A growing membership means a greater demand for groups and so we always need to expand the number available.
WHY YOU ARE NEEDED
Our range of interest groups depends entirely upon the input of members.
We can offer only what members volunteer. There is a wealth of creative talent and knowledge amongst members - please share your experience, your interests or hobbies for the benefit and enjoyment of others.
If you can't find a group that interests you, consider starting one yourself.
Advice and encouragement are always available, so if you're uncertain or have questions, please get in touch using the committee page above, and we can discuss the way forward.
UNLEASH YOUR POTENTIAL
Contact Tanya, the Group Coordinator, using the Committee page if:
- you can suggest any new ideas or topics for groups
- you are willing to run a group either on your own or with others
- you and an existing group member and willing to run another one
There is always a demand for literary groups, creative writing, book groups, history, art history, music appreciation, languages, science. More unusual topics include varieties of collecting, armchair travellers, cryptic crosswords, genealogy, map reading, and learning sign language, to name but a few.
The idea behind a current popular group Exploring Artists could be expanded to include Exploring Authors, Notable Historical Figures, Inspiring Famous Women/Men, Inspiring Ancestors, Exploring Famous Buildings/Landmarks/Places - the possibilities are endless.
For those with dogs - perhaps Dog Walk Meet-ups? Craft groups such as patchwork, crotchet, scrapbooks and embroidery are also popular, as well as cookery and gardening.
We have had requests for help with IT skills - could someone offer a Brush-up your Computer Skills group?
Whatever your idea, get in touch and be part of an enjoyable year ahead as we pursue the u3a motto learn, laugh, live
