Facilitator: Beryl Garratt
Apologies but please note that due to the changes made because of the Covid-19 virus, this group is now closed. We do have a waiting list, but due to the restrictions on our numbers, are unable to accept any more players.
Walking netball is a slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace. It has evolved from a growing demand for walking sports. Often, one of netball’s strengths is that people never forget playing the sport and the memories as well as the love for the game never leave. The game has been designed so that anyone can play it regardless of age or fitness level.
Our members meet up outside when the weather is kind and follow the government's and England Netball's guidelines with regard to social distancing, rule of 6, hand sanitising, wearing of masks and minimal sharing of equipment. As such, we don't actually play Walking Netball at this time, but do enjoy some exercise and fresh air! When the weather is less kind, we have fun and play games on Zoom.
Many thanks to all the Netball members for pulling together, supporting each other, still laughing and getting through this pandemic!
Venue/Date/Time: We have an outside space when weather permits on Friday mornings, now at the Winter start time of 11am. Cost £2.50 a week.
Dress & footwear – comfortable! Leggings / joggers etc. and trainers or similar, but no walking shoes or boots, plus bring a bottle of water. Long hair tied back and no jewellery please.
To register your interest for the waiting list or for further information, please contact Beryl via the Bluebird.
