Mindfulness Meditation

This will be a course for beginners in meditation techniques. We will develop skills which will help you to connect with your inner stillness and be able to bring quietness to yourself whenever you feel the need to, it will help improve your concentration skills and bring your focus on the present moment to enable you to make the most of situations.
Meditation is a method of focusing the mind. The mind has up to 60,000 thoughts running through our heads every day. These thoughts, sometimes have no relevance to what we are doing or experiencing at the time. We worry about the past the future have imaginary conversations, and develop habitual patterns of thinking much of which is negative.
Meditation will help you to recognise the negative thinking patterns and encourage the positive messages. It will bring you an awareness of your body and how you respond to your feelings and moods.
Over the 6 weeks we will share our experiences and learn from each other through feed back at the end of each meditation.
The classes will last around one and a half hours and will take place at Age UK in Reculver Road Herne Bay.
There is a small charge for the space and therefore a small charge will be expected. This depends on how many are interested in attending the class, approximately £2-£3.
The meditation class will not require you to sit crossed legged, we sit on straight backed chairs.
The class will be an open group unless class is full.
