Saxilby

Party Day!

Members of Saxilby u3a celebrated 10 years since it's foundation recently. Many of them said how great it was to be 'out and about' again, doing normal things and seeing friends from u3a many of whom they haven't seen for months.

After setting up gazebos, tables and chairs in the gardens of the local church hall everyone was welcomed with a glass of 'bubbles' or juice. This was followed by a very tasty hog roast complete with stuffing, sauces, salads and rolls which were provided by the Spitting Pig company based locally. Even the pig was local - and delicious. And of course there was cake made by the daughter of a u3a member. There were in fact four cakes each a different flavour and beautifully decorated with emblems representing the different groups in Saxilby u3a. We even had time for a free raffle with prizs of wines, chocolates and fruits all well received.

The weather was fine and so comfortable to sit outside and enjoy the day.
