Sawston Area

Welcome

IT IS WITH GREAT REGRET THAT WE HAVE HAD TO CEASE ALL ACTIVITIES OF THE SAWSTON AREA U3A UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

WE HAVE LEFT THE DETAILS OF ACTIVITIES WE USUALLY PROVIDE, FOR FUTURE REFERENCE, HOWEVER THESE ARE ONLY FOR GUIDANCE AT PRESENT.

The University of the Third Age is an organisation encouraging people who are
retired or no longer in full time employment to enjoy education and activities in
an informal friendly setting.
With over 48 classes activities and visits the 500+ members will have a wide
variety of educational and social opportunities to enjoy throughout the new U3A
year.
It is encouraging to note that some members have offered their services to
ensure that activities are able to continue. London Walks, Art appreciation, Short Leisurely Strolls and Mah-Jong are again included in our programme and we are grateful to the
members who are taking over the organisation.

Tutors and leaders have asked that attention be drawn to the number of
members who enrol for a class and rarely or never attend, without an
explanation. All of our leaders give their services voluntarily and deserve our
thanks and appreciation for their role in making Sawston so successful. Please
advise the tutor if you are withdrawing from a class.

Even though we have over 500 members we are always keen to welcome new ones to keep us fresh and hopefully bring different ideas for new classes, even lead them.
Please click Activities to see what we offer for the 2019/2020 year which starts in October. To join, please click Membership for full details.

The Sawston Area is only one of over 1000 U3As through the UK, and even more worldwide.
