WHO WE ARE

We are the Sarum branch of the U3A, an organisation which welcomes people no longer in full time employment to join together to learn from each other and to enjoy social activities that are of common interest.

We manage our U3A through our Executive Committee, which is currently made up of ten members. Each committee member stands for re-election after a maximum of two years, including the Chairman. This allows other members the opportunity to stand for election without too long a wait.

WHAT WE DO

We form Interest Groups which are led by members with relevant knowledge, experience or simply an interest in the subject. Groups meet either at members homes or at a variety of venues depending on the type of group. For further information on Groups, click on the GROUPS tab at the top of the page.

We also run Study Days led by expert tutors and social activities such as visits, holidays, walking groups, lunch clubs and games groups.

We produce a monthly newsletter which may be viewed on our website www.sarumu3a.org.uk, posted, or collected at our Monthly Meeting.

We hold regular Monthly Meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Coffee and biscuits are served from 10.00, followed by a professional speaker on a topic of interest. Members have a chance to socialise before the meeting starts. For more details click on the EVENTS tab at the top of this page.

Throughout the summer months we organise visits to places of interest, usually by coach. For details of visits to be made in 2017, click on the VISITS tab at the top of this page.

WHAT IT COSTS

Individual subscription is £11 per member per year, and £21 for a couple. There is no charge for Monthly Meetings. Membership also includes a home delivered copy of the Third Age Trust magazine, U3A Matters, which is published five times a year.

WHERE WE MEET

We meet in St Francis Church, Beatrice Road, Salisbury, SP1 3PN - just off Castle Road, Salisbury. There is often parking available in the car park to the rear of the Church.
