u3a Archaeology (Joint)

The group is shared with Salisbury and Spire u3as and the meetings will run from September 2023 to April 2024 inclusive on the second Tuesday of the month at the Rifles Museum in the Cathedral Close. Hopefully the group will be able to return to the refurbished lecture hall at the Salisbury Museum early in 2024 when attendance numbers can be considerably increased. Meetings commence at 10.15am when refreshments are served followed by a presentation or lecture by an experienced archaeologist. The presentations cover a wide range of archaeology subjects and usually are finished by midday. Visits to places of interest can be arranged in the summer months subject to members’ interest. The lectures are usually limited to between 40 and 50 members. However, there is no limit to the number on the group list for sharing Archaeology news and other related matters. There is a charge per meeting to cover costs of the speaker, hire of the room and refreshments. Due to the increased cost of hiring venues this will be £5. If you would like more information, please contact Malcolm Burrows at mfburrows100@gmail.com or tel 01722 416828. The programme of presentations is published on the websites of the Salisbury u3a Groups.
