THURSFORD

Seventeen members enjoyed an amazing trip to Thursford with Dunwood Travel, to see the fantastic Christmas Extravaganza. What a wonderful experience this was. The singers, acrobats, musicians and dancers were just first class, as was the Compere who entertained us with his jokes and musical talents. The unforgettable Santa's Magical Journey Into Christmas was enchanting and put us all in a very good Christmas mood.

Our stay at the Best Western Knights Hill Hotel was very good too, lovely food and comfortable rooms.

We finished our trip with a visit to Ely where most of us went around the lovely Cathedral which dates back to AD673 and has a historical connection to William the Conqueror. We learned about its history and the fact that it is known as the sky dominating cathedral built on the highest land in the Fens. Oliver Cromwell lived in Ely between 1636 and 1646 and tours of the house are available, part of which is a Visitor Centre.

Lovely break, and well worth a visit to Thursford.
