Sale u3a - AGM - 15 December 2023
Please note that the 2023 Annual General Meeting will be held at 2pm on Friday 15th December 2023 in the Main Hall of Sale Moor Community Centre.

Remembrance Day 2023
John Hemsworth laid a wreath on behalf of Sale u3a at the Remembrance Day ceremony in Sale on 12 November 2023. 
Sale U3A Open Day - 22 September 2023
On 22 September 2023 Sale U3A held an Open Day at Sale Moor Community Centre. A large number of people attended to see all the activities that the various U3A Groups have to offer.
We were particularly pleased to receive a visit from the Mayor of Trafford (Cllr. Dolores O'Sullivan)) who opened the event. 
Sale u3a Annual Generl Meeting - 3 December 2022
The AGM of Sale u3a was held on December 9th. No questions were raised at the meeting. A new Committee has been appointed:
Carole Barley, Secretary. Judith Lloyd, Chair. José Anderson, Vice Chair. Guy Robson Treasurer. Ian Hamilton, Membership secretary, John Hemsworth Group Coordinator, Barry Brotherton website and Facebook, Kathleen Chirema organises the Friday talks. If you can recommend a good speaker please contact us. Charlene Pullan, and Jean McDonald continue.
We are joined by 4 new Committee members, as well as John Hemsworth, we have Ben Cheung, Kathryn Fyfe, and Margaret Loftus. Ben and Kathryn will be responsible for publicity and communications. We need photographs of Group activity which can be displayed on the website and included in the newsletter. This year publicity was given in the Messenger and George Cogswell featured in TAM. We will be looking to raise the profile of Sale u3a and we need your help.
Sale U3A Open Day - 23 September 2022
On 23 September 2022 Sale U3A held an Open Day at Sale Moor Community Centre to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the U3A and the 30th Anniversary of Sale U3A.
About 160 people attended to see all the activities that the various U3A Groups have to offer. 
We were particularly pleased to receive a visit from the Mayor of Trafford (Cllr. Chris Boyes) and the Mayoress Pam Boyes. The Mayor cut the anniversary cakes and also presented Lifetime Membership awards to Maureen and John Nugent in recognition of their long and active involvement with Sale U3A. Resuming Group Activities
The Committee have agreed that all Group activities can meet Having met the Group leaders, we are going to have hybrid meetings with people joining by Zoom and others face to face at the Community Centre. Please refer to the GROUPS PAGE for times and days
N.B. Canasta will re start on 12th January 2022
The Easy Exercise groups will now meet every Friday at the new time of 10.am.-11.00 am
A new Group for Table Tennis will start at Sale Leisure Centre (Broad Road) at 1.30pm on Thursday 24 February 2022
The Computers & Tech Workshop Group will restart on Wednesday 2nd March at 10am until 12 noon. The venue will be in the Main Hall at Sale Moor Community Centre.

The Spanish (Post Beginners) Group will now be meeting weekly on Mondays 2pm to 4pm in the Committee Room.
FRIDAY MEETINGS
There will be a meetings monthly at 2pm in the Community Centre. These meetings are now open, so no need to register. Please see August Newsletter for contact details. The meeting can also be accessed by Zoom.

SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR 2023/24 ARE DUE FROM 1ST NOVEMBER 2023
Annual Membership
Annual membership subscriptions start on 1 November and are currently £15.00
This includes a fee paid to our National Organisation, the Third Age Trust, which provides a wide range of services and benefits including liability insurance cover.
Subscriptions for full members belonging to other u3as are currently £10.00, please supply a copy of your other u3a membership subscription.
Please note people who joined in the period July to October 2023 do not have to renew their membership until November 2024. This includes all those with membership numbers in the range 633 to 658.

Please post your renewal subscription as follows:
A cheque with your name and address (payable to Sale u3a) to be forwarded to:
The Membership Secretary at the address on the Subscription Reminder email / letter.
If you do not have cheque book, then please pay by cash at the Centre when there is a presentation or give to a Group Leader.
