BRIDGE GROUP

Further to the closure of u3a activities in the Community Centre over the month of August, Bridge will restart on Tuesday, 5th September 2023 at the usual time of 1.30 pm.

CANASTA GROUP

Further to the closure of u3a activities in the Community Centre over the month of August, Canasta will restart on Wednesday, 6th September 2023 at the usual time of 1.30 pm.

COMPUTER & TECHNICAL WORKSHOP GROUP

Unfortunately, The Group meeting in September 2023 has had to be cancelled as the Group Leader and helpers are not available. If you are interested in this Group, please contact Colin Booth.

MAH JONGG GROUPS

In future there will be two Mah Jongg Groups
Mah Jongg (English Style) will meet on the 1st & 3rd Mondays in the month 10am at the centre.
Mahjong (Hong Kong Style) will meet on the 2nd & 4th Mondays in the month 10am at the centre.
Neither will meet if there is a fifth Monday.

BADMINTON GROUP

Sessions of the Badminton Group will commence on 5th June 2023 at Sale Leisure Centre. The fee will be £3 per member for the use of two courts over a 1.5 hour period. The group will meet each Monday 1.30pm to 3.00pm and will be subject to constraints due to the School Holidays -- Tentative dates have already been provided by The Leisure Centre. Possible New Groups

BEGINNERS SPANISH

This proposed new Group needs a Group Leader. This doesn't have to be an expert; just someone to lead activities. The national u3a have a leader in this subject who can provide resources.

SINGING FOR PLEASURE

The Singing for Pleasure Group was launched in April 2023 as planned, and is meeting from 2pm to 4pm, on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month. They need an additional/backup piano player to accompany the singers. A keyboard will be available at the Community Centre. If you can help, please contact Ben Cheung.

BEGINNERS GUITAR

Unfortunately it has not been possible to get this group active.

EGYPTOLOGY
The Egyptology Group will now meet on the third Tuesday of every month at 10am until 12 noon in the Lesser Hall at the Community Centre. The first meeting will be on 18th October 2022.

CIPHERS

Peter Beresford would like to set up a cipher group.

The National Cipher Challenge is an annual competition which has been running since 2002, setting several code-breaking challenges. Anyone who likes solving puzzles might be interested. The competition is aimed at secondary school pupils, but other people can take part informally. The ten challenges are issued weekly from October to December, increasing in difficulty week by week. No previous experience of codes and ciphers is assumed - just the fun of solving puzzles and learning about the history of secret codes. Although the initial focus could be on the National Challenge, there would be plenty of scope for a continuing group.

CYCLING

Cycling Group will restart on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, starting on 7 March 2023. Meet at Walton Park car park at 1.30pm. March to December only.

Most Groups meet at Sale Moor Community Centre on Norris Road, Our location unless otherwise stated. However, some Groups meet in other venues, for example in members' homes or at Sale Leisure Centre. Please click on the headings to get more information or contact the Group Leader via the Contact page Group Co-ordinator button.

Sessions at the Community Centre are:-
morning sessions are normally 10.00 to 12.00
afternoon sessions are normally 2.00 to 4.00
