Family History

The Family History Group usually meets on the 3rd Friday in the month, except for July, August and December when there are no meetings, however, there are no meetings planned at the moment as we are trying to recruit a new group co-ordinator(s).

Meetings are held at Scagglethorpe Village Hall from 10.00am to 12 noon.

There is currently no waiting list.

Members' knowledge of researching family history varies form beginners to those with years of experience. Sometimes we have a visiting speaker but mostly we take a topic and discuss how we can improve our researching methods. Real beginners will be given help to get started. Occasional outside visits are made and the cost for these varies according to the venue.

Cost per normal meeting £1.50. This covers room hire and tea/coffee at the start of the meeting.

If you are interested in this group please ring the Membership Secretary: Jean Leggott on 01751 475093

Viewing local artifacts Members of the group talking with a visiting speaker: Ted Woodham, who brought along varied and interesting artefacts from the local area, from the Woodham Stone Collection.
