Bird Watching and Wildlife

Group Leader: Keith Hillier-Palmer

A circuit of the bird hides to see how the breeding season is progressing on the Nature Reserve#

Meet at venue on the morning of 3rd Thursday of the month ~ see monthly chart for details of venue. Car sharing encouraged.

We regularly visit Rye Harbour Nature Reserve of course, the local RSPB reserve at Dungeness and other sites between Rye and Bexhill with occasional trips as far as North or West Kent.
While we are always on the lookout for birds, some meetings emphasise other aspects of natural history. Looking at all wildlife in season, including insects, mammals, birds, fungi, flowers, ferns, lichens, etc., sometimes with a local expert on hand.

We have several knowledgeable members (e.g. Patrick Bonham is a well-known local naturalist and sometimes leads meetings of this group) keen to help new or less experienced members to learn more. New members are always welcome but should contact the coordinator first.
