South east England and northern France have been connected by history and trade, in war and peace, for well over a thousand years. We will look at relations across the narrow seas as reflected in a range of different works of art. In the Bayeux Tapestry: a failure of cross-Channel diplomacy historian Imogen Corrigan reveals the story of broken promises, ambition and diplomacy behind this great turning point. In Look both ways photographer and writer Tom Evans will examine some of the connections made by modern artists, including their reactions to the Channel Tunnel and Brexit.

Tickets cost £8.00 - visit Tenterden website to download a form with full details
