Rutland U3A Music Exploration
We meet once a month.
We usually specify a theme and ask members to bring along a recording for the meeting which generally lasts about two hours, including a break for coffee. Recordings, with possibly some explanation and/or comment, cannot be too long but are certainly informative within the context of the meeting's theme.
Recent themes have included: Renaissance Sacred Music, 19th/20th Century Sacred Music, Organ Music, Ballet Music, Film Music, Folk Song and Dance, Modern Choral Jazz/Classical Music, Spanish Music, Music with Spectacular beginnings or endings, Unusual Music (glass harmonica music, symphony by Sir James Herschel, Music from the Far East...)
