Low Level Walking
RUTHIN FRIDAY LOW LEVEL WALKING GROUP
We walk on the second Friday of each month. Wherever possible we start at a pub or cafe at 10.00. Our walks are between 2.5 and 3 hours depending on the terrain and length of walk, usually 4 to 5 miles. Walkers are expected to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. The walk leader will carry a First Aid kit. We usually have lunch (sandwiches or more) at the conclusion of the walk at the pub or café where our cars are parked. We are not accompanied by dogs on these walks. Walkers must be fully paid up members of U3A, otherwise their insurance will be invalid. For further information please contact the current coordinator Moyra Baldwin
There is a programme of walks for 2024, to date our walks have been well supported by old and new members. We look forward to seeing you.

This month our thanks go to Philip and Mary for leading a walk in the New Brighton/Mold area. It was a mild morning with 17 of us walking on what seems to have been a rare dry day. We welcomed 2 mew members to the group.
Thinking about the walk the comedy team Flanders and Swann came to mind. Though we saw no Hippopotami, one could almost imagine the sounds of The Hippopotamus Song ringing in the ears - you know the one - popularly nicknamed The Mud Song. " Mud, Mud, Glor-i-ous mud..... " I think I can safely say it was (one of) the muddiest walks - but we had been warned. So, well prepared, equipped with the appropriate clothing/gear and with good company we had a great walk followed by lunch at the Beaufort Park Hotel.
Thank you Philip and everyone.
There are a few more pics on the Ru3a Facebook page - thank you, Rose, for publishing your photos.

Many thanks to Heather and Robert for leading a lovely walk today. Not only was it a super route, we benefitted from Heather’s knowledge of the local history and landmarks such as Llangollen’s International Eisteddfod, Exuperius Pickering’s gravestone at Llantysilio church and the beautiful Horseshoe falls. I notice in the photo that the gravestone looks as if it has an erased ‘O’ or ‘U’ in Exuperius’s name.
