Rowlands Castle

Cycling

Rowlands Castle U3A social midweek cycle rides meet at the flagpole on the Green on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month on a ‘just turn up’ basis. All RC U3A members or prospective members are welcome. We leave at 9.30 am. The ride on the 2nd Thursday is the easier and the 4th Thursday is harder by being further or hillier.

The style of ride is intended to encourage those who have bikes in the garage and ‘always meant to get out’ to come for a ride, as well as more seasoned riders looking for a casual mid-week ride.
Longer and off road rides are possible, or a short break away, depending on interest.

Rides avoid main roads wherever possible, and use quiet lanes and tracks. There is a back marker, and we re-group at turnings and junctions. No one is left behind, or forced to ride beyond their capabilities.

Cafes may well be visited along the way, or at the end depending on length of ride. (This can also be a good shortening point to go back, or be picked up).

The group keeps in touch via a WhatsApp group to communicate any last minute information.
