We meet on the 2nd Monday of the Month at 9.30am outside the Larruperz Centre. We leave promptly at 9.45am.
Most walks are within a 10 miles radius of Ross, and if we need to car share to the start of a walk a contribution of £2 per passenger is given to the driver. Some walks start from Ross so transport is not needed.
Members take turns to lead the walks which are 3 - 4 miles long and last about 2 hours and we aim to be back in the centre of Ross for 1pm. The walks are more of an amble than a ramble, and the scenery is wonderful. We are trying to provide a tea stop during or at the end of a walk.
There are florescent jackets for the person at the front and at the rear of the walkers, so we do not lose anyone on route. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate dogs on the walks.
Our April walk was led by a volunteer with the Herefordshire & Worcester Earth Heritage Trust on a climb up the Doward. He was extremely knowledgeable about the botany and geology of the area which greatly enhanced the walk.
