Groups

Below are the Ringmer U3A current interest groups available to members.

Groups

Each interest group is led by a volunteer Group Convenor who is responsible for the content, duration, and administration of the group’s meetings. All group members are encouraged to actively participate at group meetings.

Meetings and Venues

Our groups generally meet during the daytime, there are some exceptions such as the astronomy group. The group list below shows when each group meets and the time of day for meetings.

Group meetings are generally held within Ringmer and the local area, venues are dependent on group sizes so locations vary from members’ homes to local hired venues.

Joining a Group

If you are interested in a particular group you are welcome to initially attend one of the group meetings as a guest for a “taster” visit to help you decide on whether you would like to join the group.

To find out more about a group please contact the group convenor for details on availability of spaces, meeting dates, venues, and any costs by using the online email form located on each group page.

To join any group you will need to be a member of Ringmer U3A or join as an affiliate member if you are already a member of another U3A group, for example Lewes U3A. For information on how to become a member of Ringmer U3A please visit our MEMBERSHIP page.

New Groups

We always welcome suggestions for starting new groups, so if our current groups do not cover a subject that you are interested in, then why not consider starting a new group and becoming a group convenor. You only need the enthusiasm and commitment for a subject that you feel would be of interest to other members.

There is plenty of support available to set up a new group and you can always ask for help from the new group members to assist and to share the workload.
