Welcome
Welcome to Ridgeway u3a serving Watlington, Chalgrove and the surrounding villages. Here you will find the latest news about membership, regular Speaker Meetings and the Interest Groups that are run by our u3a. We have a speaker meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2.30 p.m. in St. Leonard's Church, Prospect Place, Watlington OX49 5AJ, where you can find out what’s going on in the various activity groups and meet up with friends, as well as hear informative and entertaining talks by a variety of speakers. The u3a aims to encourage and enable people who are no longer in full-time work to continue with their lifelong learning by sharing their knowledge, skills, interests and experience, so if this sounds like you do get in touch.
You do not need any academic qualifications in order to join u3a (and you won't gain any from us either). There are no age limits you just need to be retired or semi-retired. Click the tab on the right for an application form.
The Interest Groups are for members only. To become a member please email us or come along to any monthly speaker meeting. You are welcome to try us out and attend as a visitor (at a cost of £4 each time, refundable when you join) for a maximum of two meetings. After that we shall expect you to become a member. You can join for an annual subscription of just £25.00
For this members are offered monthly Speaker Meetings on a variety of interesting topics in an informal atmosphere where they can chat to other members and enjoy free tea and biscuits afterwards. They also have the opportunity to join one of the special interest groups or to start another on a different subject. Many are held in members’ houses and are free of charge. Other outings and activities are available for a modest charge. All these details are in the monthly Newsletter and on the website which are free to members. There are also about 8 or 10 study days each year organised by the Thames Valley Network of u3as, often held in Benson, as well as events run by the u3a Office, usually but not always in London.
Why not come to the next meeting as a visitor and try us out?
